Physically, no. You just stand there. Emotionally, maybe.

Each of us has a different level of tolerance to criticism. Openness to new ideas/suggestions is one of the five major personality traits. Those of us who are open tend to embrace the evaluation as a positive experience while those of us who score lower on the openness scale might tend to see the evaluation as a more negative experience. While personality traits are fairly stable over time, there are cognitive strategies you can apply to better embrace evaluations.

Remember that evaluations are opinions, not necessarily facts. You are the ultimate judge of the evaluations and you choose how to use the information shared in the evaluation.

For the most part, people who evaluation you are doing so to help you improve. They are on your side. Keep this in mind if you see your evaluator(s) as an adversary.

Remember the whole point of evaluations: so you and others can learn and improve. Evaluations are just another step in becoming a better speaker!
