NEWS: Three New Product Introductions by Yaupon Brothers Tea

Austin’s Local Leaf has just debuted yet another way to enjoy America’s “native tea” by introducing the first ever Japanese-style Yaupon "matcha"!

Founder’s Stacy and Eric traveled to Japan to learn traditional green tea matcha production methods and have adapted these ancient techniques to Yaupon. Their Yaupon matcha has a strikingly similar taste, mouth-feel, and color along with similarly impressive health benefits. It’s sustainably wild-harvested and processed in small batches in Austin, TX. This makes for an eco-friendly alternative to intensively farmed green tea matcha shipped from Japan. Yaupon Brothers, based in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, has teamed up with Florida Hops to produce a calming Yaupon blend with hops and organic lavender. Hops is renowned for its mild sedative properties and characteristic zing. Check it out here: https://www.yauponbrothers.com/products/tranquili-tea-yaupon-with-florida-hops

Lost Pines Yaupon, also based in Austin, collaborated with Treaty Oak Distillery which recently released its Waterloo Old Yaupon Gin. This is a Yaupon-infused take on an old tom style botanical gin, and features a slight sweetness from Texas wildflower honey. Find it here: https://www.waterloogin.com/old-yaupon/

Each of these three new offerings demonstrates the versatility and potential of American-grown Yaupon. Cheers!
