Simpson & Vail is unveiling two new literary (author) teas to their successful line of literary teas. In addition to the fifteen literary teas, Simpson & Vail is excited to offer two new author teas: Mary Shelley (Green Tea Blend) and Henry David Thoreau (Herbal Blend).

The full line of authors are: Louisa May Alcott, Maya Angelou, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Lewis Carroll, Charles Dickens, Emily Dickinson, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Frederick Douglass, James Joyce, Edgar Allan Poe, Beatrix Potter, William Shakespeare, Mary Shelley, Henry David Thoreau, Edith Wharton and Walt Whitman. Each of these seventeen teas comes in their own specially designed tins branded to each author, their lives and works.

This year’s authors were chosen based on customer requests. Mary Shelley, best known as the author of Frankenstein, didn’t mention tea in her writings, however tea was an essential part of her daily life. Her heavenly blend brews up to a golden color with a sweet fruit taste and an undertone of chocolate that will elevate your taste buds. For the naturalist Henry David Thoreau we created a blend inspired by his many writings about the flora found near his beloved Walden Pond. The vibrant herbal blend has a fresh garden aroma that brews to a delightful red color. The cup imparts a mint and rose floral aroma and a taste that is slightly tart with earthy undertones and notes of rose and oats.

Simpson and Vail is well known for creating delicious traditional and dessert tea blends with a quirky sense of humor and love of history. In 2020 they also launched a line of delicious and unique National Park teas (with 10% of sales benefiting non-profits at each park).

Each tea tin has brief information about the author it represents. Deeper information on each author is found on the Simpson & Vail website http://www.svtea.com/Literary-Author-Teas/products/173/
