The Tea and Herbal Association of Canada (THAC) is pleased to announce the launch of new in-person Tea Sommelier® class locations in both Canada and the United States. Known globally for delivering high-quality tea education, THAC has offered its Tea Sommelier® Certification Program in-person and online for nearly two decades. This latest expansion reflects growing interest in immersive, hands-on learning experiences within the tea industry.

New in-person class locations include:

· Calgary, Alberta (Canada)

· Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada)

· Boston, Massachusetts (United States)

· Wilmington, Delaware (United States)

"Tea has always been about connection, to the craft, to tradition, and to one another. Expanding the Tea Sommelier® Program to more cities is not just about education; it’s about strengthening THAC’s role as a leader in tea appreciation and culture,” says THAC President Shabnam Weber. “As interest in tea continues to grow, so does the need for trained professionals who can share the knowledge and stories behind every cup. I’m incredibly proud to see our community expand and to make this world-class program accessible to even more people."

The newly appointed instructors for these locations bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the program:

· Adrienne Bryan – Boston, MA

· Karen Donnelly – Wilmington, DE

THAC’s in-person Tea Sommelier® classes offer students the opportunity to engage deeply with tea through expert-led lectures, guided cuppings, and group discussion—ideal for those seeking insight into the tea industry or wishing to pursue a career in the field.

Registration Details: · Waiting lists are now open for fall 2025 classes in Boston, Calgary, and Vancouver. · Registration is now open for TEA 101 & 102 in Wilmington, DE.

About the THAC Tea Sommelier® Program

The Tea and Herbal Association of Canada is the founding organization behind the THAC Tea Sommelier® Certification Program. Launched in 2008, the program is offered both in-person and online through educational partners in Canada, France, Italy, Mexico, and the United States.

Designed for both industry professionals and passionate tea enthusiasts, the program has equipped graduates for a wide range of roles within the tea sector—including buyers, entrepreneurs, marketers, and sales professionals. With thousands of students worldwide, the program has certified over 400 Tea Sommelier® professionals to date.
