About TEA ADMIN

Hey there! If you need assistance, please see our home page and menu to learn how to contact us.

For a third year, Fresh Taiwan is exhibiting at NY NOW in New York, showcasing products by ten emerging Taiwanese designers - HMM, Studio Lim, DAQI Concept, PARSEC Design Studio, eguchi toys, [bi.du.haev], Singular Concept, Beyond Object, Yenchenyawen Design Studio, and Magi-Steel. Fresh Taiwan is a multi-dimensional cluster of creative products, featuring everything from coffee sets and tableware, to stationery, fashion accessories, decorations, and much more.

Organized by the Taiwan Ministry of Culture and executed by Taiwan Design Center, the project was launched in 2012 on a mission to elevate the profile of Taiwanese design around the globe. Last year at NY NOW, Fresh Taiwan's Studio Lim was selected from among thousands of other entrants for inclusion in the trade show's Sustainability themed exhibition. Guests at the Fresh Taiwan booth included representatives from one of the biggest US homeware retailers ABC Carpet & Home, as well as e-commerce giant Amazon, British fashion brand Paul Smith, lifestyle and fashion select shop The Line, and NYC stationery store Goods for the Study. Corporate gift buyers from Uber, Four Seasons, and Mandarin Oriental, also showed interest in purchasing products from Fresh Taiwan brands. This is Fresh Taiwan's second international event in 2018, having already exhibited at Ambiente in Frankfurt, while later this year it heads to BIG + BIH in Bangkok.

If you're heading to NY NOW, don't miss Fresh Taiwan, booth 3930 in Hall 3A, Accent on Design. This year's special feature is an experiential cold drip tea and coffee bar where you can enjoy a mug of home roasted coffee, or a delicate cup of Longjing tea. The cold drip tea and coffee is infused for 6 hours using the Cold Brew System designed by [bi.du.haev] and the coffee beans are specially roasted by the designers at HMM. Both brands are exhibiting new tea and coffee lifestyle products.

Artisan Tea and Coffee

The trend in artisan tea and coffee reflects a spirit of connoisseurship, which is engrained into the lives of all modern day urbanists. Taiwan has a rich culture of tea that goes back centuries, as well as a booming contemporary movement in the third wave of coffee. Artisan tea and coffee lifestyle products, such as utensils for pour-over coffee and cold brew systems, are becoming an essential part of daily life. None echo this trend more so than [bi.du.haev] a niche lifestyle design brand that specializes in elegantly crafted instruments for brewing tea and coffee. Its products excel in both form and function; both ornamental and practical; comprised of haute materials such as art glass, brass, copper, merbau wood, and ceramics. You can sample cold brew tea and coffee from the [bi.du.haev] Cold Brew System at the Fresh Taiwan booth throughout NY NOW.

In a completely different style, HMM is hoping to win over the hearts of American retailers with Mugr and Sqoop. Better known for its stationery products, HMM considers coffee an essential ingredient for any creative workspace, complimenting its well established stationery range. Mugr and Sqoop are a mug and coffee serving spoon, designed for creative professionals. The designers at HMM are passionate about coffee, and you can try their home roasted coffee at the Fresh Taiwan booth throughout NY NOW.

Avant Garde Stationery

Among all forms of art and design, the avant garde leads the way. The radical angles and edgy aesthetics of avant garde design is spurred along by cultural trends and technological innovation. Taiwanese designers are perhaps some of the most avant garde when it comes to stationery, and the minimalist aesthetic of Beyond Object stationery certainly makes a statement. Align - Twist Pen, and LINO - Letter Opener for example, look as if they were designed for space travel.

Singular Concept is not just a stationery brand; Singular Concept designs home decor and accessories. All Singular Concept products are born out of the same avant garde design philosophy, which emphasizes abstraction of form. Junction Desk Organizer is exemplary; abstracted from industrial features in abandoned factories, such as pumping valves and drainage pipes.

Boho Chic Accessories

Bohemian fashion is back, and Taiwanese designers are leading the trend. PARSEC Design Studio showcases a range of accessories made from its own patented material called Treether, which looks like wood, but feels like leather. The properties of wood and leather imbue Treether with a sense of nature and warmth. The collection includes a long wallet and name card case, as well as notebooks and more. Ideas of the eastern and the exotic are presented in jewelry, sunglasses, and other wearable accessories, designed by Magi-Steel. 'Butterfly @ Taiwan, Detachable Necklace' is a beautiful necklace that can be customized with interchangeable butterfly wings in many choices of colors and patterns. Similarly, Window Flower Bracelet is an elegant wrist bracelet, inspired by the cultural patterns of ornate Taiwanese windows.

Organic Ceramic Homeware

Artists and designers tend to cherish the happy accidents that occur during experimentation in craftsmanship. Yenchenyawen Design Studio and Studio Lim have developed organic processes for creating one-off patterned ceramics, crafted to make homeware products. Yenchenyawen Design Studio calls its branded ceramic 'Landscape of Oxidation', combining processes of copper patination and iron oxidation. Its Jesmonite collection includes a tea light holder, jewelry tray, necklaces, an incense burner, and LED nightlight. The brand's latest Jesmonite product is a custom Bespoke Surface, which can be scaled to meet all needs from tabletops to light switches. Studio Lim calls its ceramic collection Fibrewood Objects, produced using traditional Taiwanese lacquerware techniques, mixed with natural plant fibre such as flax. The brand's signature style, 'Frosted Gold' incorporates golden flecks of wood, hence the name 'Fibrewood Objects'. The collection includes coasters, dessert plates, and trays for accessories in multiple sizes.

Bedroom Bird Pendants

Everyone has a place in their heart for birds, which signify the spirit of freedom and limitlessness. Designs featuring birds can make beautifully romantic bedroom decorations for people of all ages. Mimicking the appearance of a caged song bird, JinGoo - Wireless Audio Light by DAQI Concept is an ambient light and bluetooth speaker. The name, "Jingoo" refers to the melodious singing of the oriole bird in ancient Chinese poetry. JinGoo is already retailed at the prestigious MoMA Design Store in New York. People of all ages need inspiration, therefore bird pendants make a delightful decoration for the bedroom of a growing child as well. Designed by eguchi toys, Mobile bird - Pelican is a playful, mobile pendant with a wonderful motion. This decorative toy presents the myth of the stork that carries newborn babies into the world in the form of a good, old-fashioned mobile pendant, which is sure stimulate a growing child's imagination.
