Hey there! If you need assistance, please see our home page and menu to learn how to contact us.

Sri Lanka Export Development Board, the country’s apex body for promoting the export products and services, Sri Lanka Tea Board, and Coconut Development Authority are organising pavilions at SIAL International Food Fair to be held in Paris Nord Villepinte, France from October 21 to 25, 2018. Widely billed as the world’s largest food innovation exhibition, SIAL 2018 international Food Fair is estimated to draw in some 160, 000 enthusiastic visitors from 194 countries who will discover the latest and the most innovative products by some 7200 exhibitors from 105 countries.

These figures are strongly indicative of the huge potential SIAL International Food Fair holds for food & beverage exporters from Sri Lanka as well as from the other nations. That apart, there’s strong empirical evidence that SIAL has continuously been a major source of new export opportunities for Sri Lankan food & beverage exporters.

With agriculture playing a central role in the Sri Lankan economy, Sri Lanka has long been exporting a wide range of both fresh and processed food & beverage including tea, spices & allied products, virgin coconut oil and other coconut kernel-based products, confectionery, innovative health & wellness products and organic food products in fresh, processed, value added forms and has, deservedly, earned an enviable reputation for quality & authenticity.

The intrinsic quality of the raw material being used, fine taste of the products, state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, and stringent quality standards maintained during the process of value addition are the principal drivers behind the ever-increasing demand for the food and beverage ‘produced / grown in Sri Lanka’.

Out of the hundreds of applicants who’ve demonstrated keen interest in participating in the 2018 SIAL International Food Fair, Sri Lanka Export Development in association with Sri Lanka Tea Board and Coconut Development Authority has selected 14 food and beverage exporters to be given the opportunity to exhibit at the EDB pavilion to be located in the Hall No. 4 Stall No. K 188 at the Fair. For the major Sri Lankan companies in the food & beverage industry that operate globally, the Sri Lanka Country Pavilion will, therefore, will hold the key to unlocking a world of supplying opportunities from Sri Lanka to the prospective buyers who visit SIAL 2018, and call on Sri Lanka country pavilion there.

The Sri Lankan exhibitors, some of whom own the iconic Sri Lankan food & beverage brands, will showcase such products as Biscuit, Sweet Biscuits, Wafers, Chocolate, Cake, Porridge, Rice, Soya, Dehydrated fruit, Organic dried fruit, Juices, Desiccated coconut, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic King Coconut water, Tea, Tea Bags, Tea Packets, Bulk Tea, Dry Food, Frozen food, Coconut products, Organic Virgin Coconut Flour, Coconut chips, Coconut milk, Coconut flour, Coconut water, King Coconut water, Coconut Shell charcoal, Sausage & Salami, Bacons, Nectar & Juice, Jam, Sauce, Cordial, Dry fish, Black pepper, Pepper, Cloves, Ceylon Cinnamon, Curry paste, In Brine products, Moringa capsules, Nut Grass Capsules, Inginee Capsules & Milk, Pumpkin Seeds Capsules, Garcinia Capsules, and Withania Capsules, etc.

Overall, visitors to the SIAL 2018 will get the opportunity to:

  •     Discover the latest food trends and innovations
  •     Visit the Alter’Native Food pavilion
  •     Visit Country pavilion section to see the food products offered and brand promotions
done by more than 100 countries in the world
  •     Study the latest technology in food processing, food packaging and labelling.
  •     Identify supply sources for ingredients for value addition

On behalf of the Sri Lankan exhibitors at SIAL 2018, Sri Lanka Export Development Board would like to extend an open invitation to the prospective visitors to call over at the EDB pavilion located in the Hall No. 4 Stall No. K 188 to explore this broad range of Sri Lankan food and beverage, and meet with representatives from these leading food & beverage exporters from Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board, usually known as EDB, is Sri Lanka's apex organization for the promotion and development of exports and was established in 1979 under the Sri Lanka Export Development Act No. 40. EDB is the executive arm of the Export Development Council of Ministers, which is the policy-making body of the EDB.
