April 16, 2018

To our valued consumers,

Traditional Medicinals has been making wellness teas for five decades and your health and well-being has always been our number one priority. Because of this commitment we are voluntarily recalling one batch of Everyday Detox Lemon and one batch of Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea from the market.

Our supplier of lemon myrtle leaf (a minor ingredient in both products) found Salmonella contamination in a retained sample of this herb. All our herbs go through rigorous multiple rounds of testing (as well as additional independent third-party testing), and I want to reassure you that no contamination has been found in either of these products and no illnesses have been reported.

However, upon learning of this, we reported the problem to FDA (to make sure all proper procedures and guidelines were followed) and we initiated a voluntary recall of two single lots of tea: EveryDay Detox Lemon (lot #19461, exp. date January 2021) and Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea (lot #19482, exp. date January 2021).

We also notified retailers to remove these two lots from their shelves. As well, we encourage you to discard these two specific lots if you have them at home. If you believe that you have product affected by this recall and would like reimbursement, or have any other questions or concerns, please contact our Consumer Response line at 1-800-543-4372.

More than ever, I have a great appreciation for our loyal consumers who trust Traditional Medicinals to maintain the highest quality and integrity.

Sincerely,

Blair Kellison,
CEO of Traditional Medicinals
